Marci Achenbach was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1971, and grew up in Omaha, Nebraska.  She attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1995, graduating with Departmental Honors.  Ms. Achenbach attended law school at the University of Colorado in Boulder.  While in law school, she was a member of the University of Colorado Law Review and of the Environmental Moot Court team.  She graduated in 1999.

Ms. Achenbach has been an associate attorney with Sullan2, Sandgrund, Smith & Perczak, P.C. (formerly Vanatta, Sullan, Sandgrund, Sullan & Smith, P.C.) since June 2000.  She is a member of the Denver and Colorado Bar Associations and the Colorado Women's Bar Association.
