The Voice of Colorado’s HomeownersSullan2, Sandgrund, Smith & Perczak, P.C.Denver Construction Defect LawyersThe law firm of Vanatta, Sullan, Sandgrund, Sullan & Smith P.C. is located in Greenwood Village, Colorado, a suburb of Denver . Our six lawyers and support staff focus on construction law with an emphasis in construction and material defects and related insurance coverage issues. Our firm has represented thousands of Colorado homeowners seeking damages for many homeowner problems such as townhouse, condominium and homeowners association claims, defective building materials, products and components, landslides, subsidence, slope instability, expansive soils and other geologic hazards, road collapse, insurance coverage disputes, improper road construction, and commercial building defects. We have sued every major builder in the state and represented as many as 30,000 home owners in one lawsuit. Our firm works very hard to win for our clients the full cost of fixing serious defects in their homes – see some Representative Cases . Construction litigation requires knowledge and experience in dealing with many trades, businesses, consultants, expert witnesses and professions, including architects, engineers, developers, builders, contractors, governmental agencies, insurance companies, bonding companies, and others. Our firm has extensive knowledge and experience dealing with all of these in both lawsuits and alternative dispute resolution settings. Attorneys Scott Sullan and Ron Sandgrund are authors of Residential Construction Law in Colorado (Denver: 2005) and Residential Construction Defect Litigation (Seattle: 2000), the only books devoted to Colorado building defect law. Mr. Sullan and Mr. Sandgrund are also co-authors of Chapter 14 (Residential Construction) of the Practitioner's Guide to Colorado Construction Law (Robert Benson, Ed., 2005), in addition to many articles on construction law. Our firm’s books and articles have been referred to by the Colorado Supreme Court and Court of Appeals in construction law cases. Vanatta, Sullan, Sandgrund, Sullan & Smith P.C. has assumed a leading role to protect homeowners’ rights. Its attorneys frequently are asked to testify before the Colorado legislature regarding proposed laws affecting Colorado homeowners and homeowner associations. The firm backed legislation opposing building industry’s efforts to limit its liability in the face of a $3 million negative ad campaign financed by this same industry. Attorney Scott Sullan went on a speaking tour representing the views of home owners in support of Amendment 34, a 2004 initiative designed to protect homeowner rights. Our firm handles and encourages all forms of alternative dispute resolution in the construction arena, including arbitration and mediation. The firm also has a well-established appeals practice in both the state and federal courts. Effective October 1, 2007, the firm name changed from Vanatta, Sullan, Sandgrund, Sullan and Smith, P.C. to Sullan2, Sandgrund, Smith & Perczak, P.C. Mr. Sandgrund became "Of Counsel" then as well, and Ms. Mari Perczak joined the firm on that date and become a shareholder. It will take several weeks for the website to be updated to reflect these changes. Learn More About Our Firm:Making Headlines: Read news articles about Vanatta, Sullan, Sandgrund, Sullan & Smith P.C.
